Returns and Store Policies


Please contact us prior to returning any item for refund or exchange. Depending on the product, we occasionally drop ship directly from the manufacturer. Sugar River Saddlery and Tack wants to make sure your credited properly for your return and we only can do this if you contact us first before returning any merchandise.

Sugar River Saddlery and Tack offers the following Return Policy:

GENERAL RETURN POLICY

A general return policy applies to all items not outlined with special instructions. In order for a refund or store credit to be issued, items must be returned in their original condition, complete with their original tags and/or packaging. Please include the original or a copy of the sales invoice. If you have lost your invoice, please include your name and address, along with your payment information. Returns received without any information regarding the return, as requested above, will be refused and sent back to the sender. Returns will be processed within 20 days of receipt by us, as our return center has to inspect the items and often customer service has to contact the manufacturer before processing the request for return. We appreciate your patience during this period.

Note: Any custom made item is non-refundable. Most of our items are custom made to your specifications and spicifically designed for you and your horse. We highly recommend our bare tree saddle fitting to insure the best fit for you and your horse.

RETURNS/MAIL ADDRESS

If you find that you need to return an item, please read the return policy outlined above, contact us for pre-approval. Do not send any returns without pre-approval. As you will not receive credit. You will not receive a credit or refund on any item that is custom make.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

If you have any questions regarding an exchange of an item or how a product is used please contact our customer service department. We will be more than happy to help you and answer any questions you may have.

BIT POLICY

For health and sanitary reasons, we cannot accept any bit for return that has been in direct contact with the animal’s mouth. When checking the bit for correct sizing, we ask that you first wrap the entire bit with plastic wrap before placing in the horse’s mouth. A bit that has been ridden in or has ANY signs of usage is non-returnable.


HORSE DRAWN CARTS

Horse carts are not returnable due to the high cost of shipping it does not make this option feasable. We will replace any parts of the cart that are damaged or defective. Make sure you have the correct measurements on the shaft and wheels when ordering. If damage has occurred from shipping, buyer must check package when delivery is made and if shipping damage has occurred, notation needs to be made with delivery driver.

SADDLE POLICY

We want any saddle purchased from us to fit both horse and rider. To ensure that you are purchasing a saddle that fits your horse or mule, we can ship you either the templates for measurement or the saddle tree before we begin making your saddle. We do not reccomend the template method and highly reccomend the bare tree fitting process. You won't find any other saddle manufacturer that provides this service. We do require a deposit of $150.00 on the tree prior to shipping which $125.00 will be applied to your saddle order. Any saddle returns due to damage or manufacturer error must be pre-approved by us and you must contact us within 7 days of your receipt of the order.
